About
MISSION STATEMENT
Holy Cross School, an educational ministry of Holy Cross Parish in West Sacramento, California, provides a quality education for the whole child in a Christian environment integrating the teachings of the Roman Catholic faith within the learning process. Through the teaching and modeling of Gospel values in a caring, nurturing environment, and with the full participation of parents, the primary educators of their children, students will be empowered to become responsible and productive members of society. High academic standards, service to the community, and respect for all people are the foundations of Holy Cross School.
HOLY CROSS PHILOSOPHY
The faculty and staff of Holy Cross Catholic School believe that we exist for the purpose of providing our students with a Catholic education. We provide a program that integrates our Christian practices and our Catholic Faith, which complements and supports the ideals of Christianity. We teach the Gospel, build community, and encourage service to others. We work toward the development of the whole child within a multi-cultural, Christian environment.
We acknowledge that the family, especially the parent is the primary educator. We seek to instill an appreciation of life-long learning and academic curiosity. We also strive to provide a broad base of knowledge, and a pattern of learning necessary for further growth and development.
We, at Holy Cross School, believe every student has the ability to develop awareness of moral responsibility to all living things. We also believe every student has the ability to understand self-worth and to promote self-esteem. We, the staff, want to provide a setting that encourages the acceptance of likenesses and differences in people. We also want to encourage the development of good nutritional and physical habits.
In addition to our commitment to the teachings of the Roman Catholic faith, we believe our children deserve the best and embrace reform that brightens our community’s future. To ensure our kids are given the shot at success they deserve, the recipe we want to follow is simple:
- High Academic Standards: Cutting-edge education for your children
- Affordable Catholic Education: Private education, support, and resources to everone in our community
- Sustainability: A strong foundation that will serve the community for decades
